Almost 1,200 people treated for injuries while at Hoopfest

SPOKANE, Wash. — For many athletes at Hoopfest, the heartbreak of loss was not the only injury sustained over the weekend.

MultiCare treated 1,184 athletes for injuries between Saturday and Sunday.

According to MultiCare, medical staff treated 29 fractures, 21 ruptured Achilles tendons, and 24 knee injuries including ACL, MCL, and PCL.

Other injuries included 23 dislocations, 3 concussions, 10 dehydrations, 189 strain/sprain, 33 lacerations, 296 wounds (scrapes, raspberries, etc.), 18 blisters, and 538 required tape.
