Free legal clinics available in Spokane help with immigration, eviction and other legal issues

SPOKANE, Wash. — People in need of legal counsel or advice in the Inland Northwest should be aware of a free resource available to them.

Latinos en Spokane, an organization dedicated to empowering the Latino community in Spokane County, is providing free legal clinics for those in need of legal guidance.

They provide assistance to both members of the Latino community, as well as anyone else in the Inland Northwest who needs civil legal advice.

The Poder Legal Team hosts monthly free legal clinics where people can find help on issues like immigration, asylum, divorce, custody and eviction.

Attendees can speak with legal professionals and receive information about how to properly fill out important documents or applications.

“It’s definitely fulfilling to do this kind of work,” said Alex Maldonado, paralegal with Poder Legal Team.

If Poder doesn’t have the right professional on-staff to assist someone, they can refer clients to the right resources.

“Because of my legal background, I’m able to ask the right questions so that I can refer them to the right organizations and attorneys in the area. It’s definitely something you look forward to when you’re able to find the right help for them,” said Maldonado.
