Gonzaga faces West Virginia in 2024 Bad Boy Mowers Tournament

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga will open the 2024 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis against West Virginia on Nov. 27 at 11:30 a.m. (PST).

The annual tournament is held on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

Gonzaga is 5-0 all-time against West Virginia.

In their last meeting, Gonzaga rallied to an 87-82 victory over No. 11 West Virginia in the 2020 Jimmy V Classic in Indianapolis.

In 2017, the Bulldogs won a thrilling Sweet 16 matchup with West Virginia in San Jose, California.

Gonzaga’s Jordan Mathews hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with under a minute to play, and the top-seeded Zags survived to beat No. 4 West Virginia 61-58, advancing to the West Regional final and eventually reaching the program’s first Final Four.

West Virginia begins the season under new head coach Darian DeVries, who led Drake to six consecutive 20-win seasons.

The Mountaineers were 9-23 last season, including 4-14 in the Big 12 Conference, but bring in an almost entirely new roster under DeVries.
