Roof collapses in Spokane Valley house fire

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — No firefighters were injured when a roof collapsed at a home in Spokane Valley Friday morning.

Spokane Valley Fire says a fire started on the back porch of a home on E. Desmet Avenue near Greenacres Park.

A family inside the home did not know a fire had started until it spread inside setting off fire alarms. They were able to get out safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
