When will the Thor-Freya construction project end?

SPOKANE, Wash –

UPDATE: 4:45 pm on September 9

4 News Now heard back from a City of Spokane official who said the project was delayed due to various things such as the installation of new curbing and damage to a traffic signal.

The official said the city expects the exit to open this week.

Drivers who use the Thor-Freya exit from eastbound Interstate 90 will have to wait at least a few more weeks to use it again.

The City of Spokane began working on the Thor-Freya intersections at 2nd and 3rd Avenues in March.

Crews are reconstructing all four intersections in the area and also installing new storm, sewer and water systems.

The city’s website says the project would be completed in August, but construction is still underway with the Thor-Freya exit closed and several lane closures off the freeway.

A spokesperson told 4 News Now the project is in the finishing stages and would likely be finished in the next couple of weeks.
