Dust storm knocks out power in the Inland NW

SPOKANE, Wash – A dust storm moving through the Inland Northwest Wednesday afternoon knocked out power to thousands of people.

Avista reported more than 1,800 customers without power in the Fairwood area of North Spokane around 4:30 Wednesday.

As of 8:15 p.m. on September 25, Over 27,000 Avista customers are experiencing outages across the region in areas such as Chattaroy, Dartford, and Green Bluff.

Inland Power reports over 13,000 customers without power, with a majority being in Spokane and Whitman County.
