SPOKANE, Wash. — Saturday marks exactly one month from Election Day.
Washington voters can expect to receive their ballots in the mail by October 18.
Secretary of State Steve Hobbs stopped by the 4 News Now studio Friday morning and wants to remind you to fill those out sooner rather than later.
Secretary Hobbs recommended curious voters go down to the county auditor’s office to observe the democratic process in action.
“We take elections for granted. We think it’s boring…but really it’s not boring! What it is is that you need to know that there’s a lot of security and transparency and accessibility to it,” Hobbs said.
To make sure your vote is counted, Secretary Hobbs recommends casting your ballot in a drop box.
He said local elections are often decided by a marginal number of votes, so your voice matters!
In order for a ballot to county, it must be postmarked before 8 p.m. on November 5.
