Teen girl arrested for assaulting parents and Spokane deputy over cell phone use

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A 16-year-old girl was arrested Sunday for hitting her mother and stepfather along with a Spokane County Sheriff’s deputy during an altercation.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 caller reported the teen was hitting her mother and trying to fight multiple people at a home in east Spokane County around 5:20 p.m. It was also reported she was possibly trying to grab kitchen knives.

Deputies arrived and said the teen was uncooperative and being held down by her stepfather.

SCSO says the girl was told she was detained but was still uncooperative before deputies were able to get her into handcuffs.

While being escorted out of the home, SCSO says the girl kicked a deputy and had to be forced to the ground before being put into a patrol car.

The victims told the sheriff’s office the fight began over the girl’s cell phone use and she struck them multiple times.

The teen was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center for felony assault and domestic violence.
