On this New Year’s Eve morning we have areas of black ice due to freezing fog. The rest of the day will be quiet. We will be mostly dry with the potential for light sprinkles and flurries. However…things will change quickly. We could start off 2025 with snow!
What We’re Tracking
- Many of us could experience areas of black ice during the morning commute
- Freezing fog will make roads icy in the Spokane/ Coeur d’Alene areas, Palouse, and Highway 2 West of Spokane
- Dry New Year’s Eve but light snow expected for New Year’s Day
Plan my Tuesday
- Watch out for slippery conditions during the morning commute
- Scattered light showers across Southeast Washington and the Central Idaho panhandle
- Only dusting expected for snow, chances decrease in the afternoon
- Cooler temperatures this week
A Closer Look
- Highs in the 30s
- New Year’s Day snow (up to two inches in the valleys)
- Snow starting after 4:00 am and slowing as soon as 10:00 am
