Refugee family displaced after apartment fire in Spokane, one injured

SPOKANE, Wash. – A refugee family was displaced after a fire broke out in their apartment, but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

According to a spokesperson for the Spokane Fire Department, at around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Spokane and Spokane County firefighters responded to a fire at the Lyon’s Crest Apartments. Firefighters said they were able to put out the fire quickly, but the apartment sustained damage.

One refugee family was displaced, and firefighters said that they are still determining whether the apartment manager will provide housing or if the Red Cross will assist the family…
