Spokane high school students get hands-on medical experience at UW School of Medicine

SPOKANE, Wash. — Dozens of high school students from Spokane County explored medical careers through hands-on experience at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Students examined a human heart, looked at X-rays, and talked with medical students about becoming doctors.

“I wish that this opportunity was given to me in high school,” said Alyssa Ong, a first-year medical student. “I think when you’re in high school, it’s a little bit harder to decide what career you want to do.”…
