Spokane parks levy gains community support for November ballot

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane City Council has approved a proposed parks levy for the November ballot as part of the “Together Spokane Initiative.” This initiative is a collaboration between Spokane Public Schools and the City of Spokane Parks to update parks, outdoor spaces, and sporting complexes.

Isa Sevier, a community member, emphasized the importance of parks in developing a robust community. “We need parks to have a strong community and to have a healthy community,” she said.

Sevier believes the parks levy is crucial for maintaining outdoor areas for younger generations. “If kids aren’t given a place to go outside, where you don’t have to pay to do something, then you’re just gonna be trapped inside on your phone and I don’t think anyone wants that for the youth of Spokane,” she added…
