Two people rescued from balcony after early morning apartment fire in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley firefighters rescued two people trapped on a balcony after their apartment caught fire early Saturday morning.

According to the Spokane Valley Fire Department, the fire was reported around 2 a.m. at an apartment complex on North Cherry Street. A woman and a man were unable to escape through the front door due to the flames and became trapped on the balcony, firefighters said.

Firefighters said that they quickly knocked down the fire and used a ladder to rescue both people. The victims were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions are currently unknown…
