Mother’s Day rain showers break a dry spell of Inland Northwest weather

The Spokane airport has not recorded any measurable precipitation in the month of May so far, but that is about to change with a new pattern coming in for Mother’s Day Sunday.

A cold front overnight will cause an increase in cloud cover and winds. It will bring with it weak chances of rain and sprinkles that will continue into the morning.

The largest wave of rain moves through in the evening. The heaviest rainfall amounts are expected for areas like the Palouse and the North Idaho Panhandle. Weak thunderstorms could be imbedded within the shower activity on Sunday…
