SPOKANE VALLEY – Four teenagers were rescued from a steep rock formation near the Stevens Creek Trailhead early Sunday morning after becoming stranded during a nighttime outing at the Rocks of Sharon.
The Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) responded to the call just after midnight on May 18, after reports came in that a group of teens had become stuck atop the cliff. One teen had fallen approximately 20 feet and sustained a leg injury, becoming separated from the others.
Spokane County Fire District 8 was first on the scene and quickly requested assistance from surrounding agencies. Crews from SVFD, Spokane Fire Department, Spokane County Fire District 8, and Spokane County Search and Rescue collaborated on a rope rescue operation that lasted about 90 minutes…
