SPOKANE, Wash. — The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) adopted new rules that prohibit people from feeding wildlife.
WDFW’s new rules were adopted in an effort to keep Washington wildlife healthy.
WDFW said feeding deer, elk and moose in Washington State is illegal, and this includes providing salt blocks to attract animals. WDFW said the rule was adopted following a recent rise in Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) cases. There is currently no cure for CWD.
