JUNCTION CITY, Ore. – A Washington man stopped by Junction City police on suspicion of driving while impaired was arrested on Saturday evening on multiple drug and weapons charges, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO officials said a deputy responded at about 9 p.m. on May 24 to assist a Junction City police officer for a suspicious vehicle call on Ivy Street. An investigation determined that that the driver, identified as John Robert Prince, 45, of Spokane, Washington, was under the influence of drugs, sheriff’s deputies said. Authorities said that Junction City police arrested Prince for driving under the influence. Sheriff’s deputies deployed drug-detection K9 Bear who alerted to the presence of drugs in Prince’s vehicle, sheriff’s officials said. The LCSO said that a search of the vehicle turned up more than 200 grams of cocaine, more than 50 grams of methamphetamine pills, a scale with drug residue present, drug packaging material, and $2,000 in cash.
