SPOKANE VALLEY, WA – A 16-year-old male was arrested in the early morning hours of May 30 following a break-in at a convenience store near the intersection of Sprague Avenue and University Road in Spokane Valley.
Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to NomNom at 10708 E. Sprague Avenue around 2:55 a.m. after a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, deputies found the store’s glass door shattered and debris scattered outside the entrance. Store surveillance footage revealed a white male suspect wearing a black Nike shirt, light pants, and dark shoes entering the store after breaking the glass. He was seen taking two tall cans of Twisted Tea, cigars, and vape-related products.
The damage to the store was estimated at $1,000, with the value of the stolen items totaling approximately $40.
Deputies conducted an area search and located a juvenile matching the suspect’s description near South Union Road and the Appleway Trail crossing. When approached, the teen was found smoking a cigar and holding an unopened can of Twisted Tea. According to deputies, he spontaneously asked if the detention was related to NomNom…
