SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane will pay $400,000 to a woman who was raped by a former Spokane police officer—marking the second such settlement tied to the officer’s criminal case.
The Spokane City Council approved the settlement Monday night. It stems from the actions of Nathan Nash, who was convicted in 2022 of second- and third-degree rape for assaults that occurred while he was on duty in 2019. He is currently serving a 14-year prison sentence.
