Spokane International Airport closes primary runway for construction

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane International Airport will close its primary runway for three days next week, routing all flights over South Hill neighborhoods.

The airport will close runway 3-21 Monday, June 9 through Wednesday, June 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All flights will use the secondary east-to-west runway during these hours.

The closures allow crews to complete construction on Taxiway Alpha, an 11,000-foot pathway aircraft use to access the airport’s main facilities…
