SPOKANE, WA – A 49-year-old man with an extensive criminal history has been arrested and charged in connection to a series of construction site burglaries in Spokane County. Spokane County Investigative Unit (SCIU) detectives arrested Shawn C. Wallwork following an investigation that linked him to multiple thefts across the area, resulting in thousands of dollars in stolen materials and damages.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, detectives began investigating after two burglaries were reported in May. On May 7, a North Spokane County business reported approximately $3,750 worth of lumber, OSB sheets, and siding stolen. On May 27, a Spokane Valley site suffered $3,000 in losses and $800 in damages after a suspect cut through fencing and disabled surveillance cameras.
SCIU detectives, aided by Real-Time Crime Center analysts, identified Wallwork and obtained a search warrant for his home and a job site. On June 2, Wallwork was taken into custody during a traffic stop, and his vehicle was seized. Detectives then searched his residence on S. Felts Road and a job site near E. 7th Avenue and S.
