SNAP energy assistance program providing relief for Spokane community amid rising summer heat

SPOKANE, Wash. — As temperatures across the Inland Northwest continue to rise, Spokane Neighborhood Action Partners (SNAP) are working to bring much-needed relief to community members in need.

“It’s not a luxury to be cool and comfortable in your home, it’s a necessity,” said Carmen Groom, the energy manager with SNAP.

Groom says the energy assistance program phone line opens monthly on every third Tuesday and the organization sees hundreds of calls from people reaching out for help…
