Spokane woman charged in hit-and-run that left teen in critical condition

SPOKANE, Wash. – A woman accused of dragging a 17-year-old male in a hit and run case made her first court appearance today.

Court documents say Cautia McArthur, 19, crashed into the victim while he was walking on Washington St. in downtown Spokane June 8. Witnesses captured video footage of the victim clinging to the hood of the van, police said.

Investigators said the teen ended up pinned underneath the van and was dragged against the roadway for a significant distance before being transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center and later flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle…
