Spokane man accused of assaulting federal agent to remain in custody

SPOKANE, Wash. — A man accused of assaulting a federal agent during his arrest appeared in Spokane’s federal courthouse Monday afternoon, where a judge ruled, he will remain in custody until his trial date.

Martin Diaz faces federal charges stemming from an April 29 incident when Border Patrol agents arrested him at his home. Ring doorbell camera footage captured Diaz running toward his home before being tackled to the ground by agents in his front yard.
