SPOKANE, WA — Three Washington State Patrol (WSP) troopers have been identified as involved in a critical incident that occurred on June 15, 2025, at the intersection of E. Trent Avenue and N. Pines Road in Spokane County. The incident also included a deputy from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, the troopers discharged their firearms during the encounter. The troopers have been identified as Jordan Berezay, Alek Black, and Dallas Slemp.
In accordance with Washington State Initiative 940 and Substitute House Bill 1064, an independent investigation is now underway.
