Brush fire closes lanes on Highway 2 near Airway Heights, drivers urged to expect delays

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — A brush fire along U.S. Highway 2 in Airway Heights has prompted lane closures in both directions.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the fire has reduced the highway to one lane in each direction at milepost 277 near Craig Road to allow access for emergency vehicles. The closure began at 12:41 p.m. and will remain in effect until the fire is contained.
