SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Comissioners voted to join a lawsuit in relation to the settlement over the death of Cindy Lou Hill in jail.
On August 25, 2018, Hill was found unresponsive at Spokane County Jail and later died at Sacred Heart Medical Center due to a bacterial infection. Hill’s estate sued Spokane County Jail and NaphCare, the jail’s medical provider.
In 2022, a court awarded her estate nearly $27 million. NaphCare paid $24 million in punitive damages, while an additional $2.75 million was awarded in other damages…
