Spokane may tighten water restrictions as drought worsens

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane may implement stricter water restrictions as drought conditions worsen and river levels drop.

Currently, people are asked to water their lawns only four days a week. Residents cannot water between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to help conserve water.

The city says watering during the day, especially when it’s hot, means much of the water evaporates before it soaks into the grass…
