EPHRATA – A 31-year-old Spokane man found himself in an unusual bind Thursday morning when he became lodged head-first between a grouping of decorative stone pillars outside the Ephrata Amtrak station.
The incident happened around 10:00 a.m. on July 24. According to law enforcement, Jay Hill had attempted to retrieve an item that had fallen into the narrow gap between the large rock pillars. In doing so, he slid head-first into the opening and became stuck, with his body nearly fully wedged between the two structures.
When officers from the Ephrata Police Department arrived, they were met with a bizarre scene: only Hill’s feet were visible, sticking out from the top of the stone pillars…
