Dozens broadcast their support for PBS, public media in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funds NPR and PBS stations across the country, announced Friday that it’s shutting down.

In response, a local group made sure Spokane’s PBS station knows it still has supporters.

“I feel like it’s kind of easy to be mad and yell about things, but it’s really important to see the people and groups doing good and to thank them, because it is really hard, and to keep up that courage is a challenge,” local advocacy group Eastside Gladiators organizer Petra Hoy said…
