Spokane, Washington Weather Alert: Thunderstorms Threaten Midweek, Cooler Temps Follow Through Thursday

Spokane, WA – Midweek travel in Spokane could be disrupted by thunderstorms and scattered showers starting late Tuesday and lasting through Thursday morning. The National Weather Service warns that storms may bring gusty winds and brief downpours, with the most active window expected Wednesday night into early Thursday.

According to the NWS Spokane office, light showers may begin as early as Wednesday afternoon, but the heaviest activity is expected between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday. While rain totals are expected to remain under a tenth of an inch in most areas, stronger storms could bring isolated heavier bursts. Thunderstorms may also disrupt outdoor plans during the morning commute Thursday. By Thursday night, conditions are expected to clear briefly before warming returns Friday.
