Spokane, WA Weather Alert: Heat Advisory Until 8 PM Tuesday, Fire Risk Peaks Wednesday

Spokane, WA – Dangerous heat grips Eastern Washington today with highs reaching 92 to 103 degrees before a critical fire weather day arrives Wednesday. Residents in Spokane, Spokane Valley, and surrounding communities will face elevated wildfire danger as gusty winds combine with single-digit humidity levels midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, a Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The hottest conditions will hit lowland cities such as Clarkston, Lewiston, and Spokane Valley. Overnight relief will be limited, with lows only dipping into the mid-60s. On Wednesday, a Fire Weather Watch will cover much of the region, including the Okanogan Valley, Methow Valley, Palouse, and Snake River zones. Winds of 15 to 25 mph, gusting to 35 mph, could cause rapid fire spread on any new or existing blazes.

The NWS urges residents to avoid outdoor burning, secure loose equipment, and drink plenty of water. Those without air conditioning should seek cooling centers or shaded locations. Outdoor work should be rescheduled to mornings or evenings to avoid heat-related illness…
