Eastern Washington Heat Break: Thunderstorms Possible in Lewiston and Pullman Through Thursday

Spokane, Wash. – Triple-digit heat is set to ease across the Inland Northwest by midweek, but relief may arrive with scattered storms, rain showers, and cooler highs in the 80s.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, southeast Washington and north-central Idaho stand the best chance of measurable rain beginning late Wednesday into Thursday. Lewiston could see up to a tenth of an inch, while Winchester may collect nearly half an inch. The added moisture comes with a 25–50% chance of storms in parts of the region.

Thunder chances peak in Pullman, Lewiston, and Winchester late Wednesday and Thursday, with probabilities reaching 25% in some communities. Spokane and Coeur d’Alene carry a lower 10–15% chance, but passing showers could still develop.
