Suspected impaired driver arrested after hit and run in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A man was arrested for a hit and run crash following a welfare check in Spokane Valley.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the welfare check near the intersection of Progress Road and 16th Avenue around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Callers reported an SUV stopped in the road with the driver slumped over the steering wheel. SCSO said shortly after, the SUV was involved in a crash near Progress Road and 19th Avenue where the driver slammed into a parked truck before driving away…
