New apartment complex aims to meet Spokane’s housing demand

SPOKANE, Wash. – A new apartment complex called Cause on Fourth is under construction in downtown Spokane, near Lewis and Clark High School. The development is set to offer 210 units, including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments by August 2026.

The project aims to address the housing needs of Spokane’s workforce. Cathy Reines, president of Coase, the developer behind the project, explained the strategic location choice. “We chose because it’s located near hospitals. It’s located obviously near universities and near the downtown core. Our demand drivers are those specific industries,” Reines said.

Reines emphasized the focus on serving hospital workers, students, professors, and downtown employees in retail and service sectors. Spokane has proven to be a favorable environment for development, but Reines noted that the company will not pursue additional projects in the area until Cause on Fourth is completed…
