SPOKANE, Wash. – A former assistant director with the Spokane Tribe of Indians was convicted on more than two dozen counts of brank fraud and one count of embezzlement and theft from a tribal organization.
Tawhnee Colvin, who was the assistant director for the Spokane Tribe Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS), had access to a bank account with funds designated for foster children. A jury found that she made more than 50 fraudulent transfers from the DCFS account into her own personal bank account, totaling in over $50,000.
