Spokane Police Department using different approach to educate people about DUIs

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police used a different approach to bring awareness about DUIs.

In recent weeks, the traffic unit’s DUI officers have been visiting multiple bars and restaurants with breathalyzers. They were out educating people about how impairment can affect them, and asked if they knew how impaired they were.

People who volunteered guessed their blood alcohol level, and then blew into a breathalyzer to find out if they were above the legal limit to drive…
