On the morning of Sept. 9, cars lined the streets in an attempt to make it to the front of the Raising Cane’s drive-thru. A smell distinct in the Southern region of the United States had finally made its way to Spokane.
The smell would create a line that stretched for over a half-mile down the road and filled the streets with stop-and-go traffic.
“I enjoy the chicken absolutely, but for me, it’s definitely elevated by the overall experience,” Spokane community member and Texas native Ryan Hughes said. “I built a routine of getting the same meal every time I went and knew the familiar feeling of walking in to order. Having one here now is a reminder of home, and I am thankful for that more than anything.”…
