Ritzville Residents, Including Baby, Hospitalized after DUI Crash Near Spokane

SPOKANE — Several Ritzville residents were among those injured in a serious DUI-related crash Sunday afternoon on Interstate 90 in Spokane, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision happened just after 2 p.m. near milepost 278, within Spokane city limits. Troopers say 26-year-old Jonathan D. Schur of Spokane was driving a black 2014 Ram 1500 pickup at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended a 2007 Pontiac sedan. Both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder of the freeway.

The Pontiac was carrying multiple Ritzville residents. The driver, 24-year-old Zachary J. Conrad of Hatton, and passengers Kylie E. Demeurers, 21, and Michael X. Pherigo, 23, were transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center with injuries. A 12-month-old girl from Ritzville, who had been secured in a rear-facing car seat, was also taken to the hospital as a precaution…
