Starbucks announces closing of three Spokane locations, part of new restructuring plan

Following a new restructuring plan announced by CEO Brian Niccol, Starbucks has announced the shutdown of three of its 29 Spokane locations.

The locations on 2703 N. Division St., 9335 N. Newport Hwy and 1821 N. Hamilton St. will be shut down effective immediately, while the Ritzville location near I-90 will also close. The buildings have already been stripped of any Starbucks branding.

“We identified coffeehouses where we’re unable to create the physical environment our customers and partners expect, or where we don’t see a path to financial performance, and these locations will be closed,” Niccol wrote in a letter released on Sept. 25…
