SPOKANE – The early-morning wind hums across rooftops as damp leaves scatter over wet driveways. In the half-light before dawn, the air feels brisk and restless — a sure sign of change sweeping across eastern Washington. The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Wind Advisory through 9 a.m. Sunday, warning of gusts up to 40 mph and a quick-hitting burst of rain that could mix with snow in higher elevations.
Rain moves through Spokane between late morning and midafternoon, with temperatures hovering in the upper 40s to near 50°F. Brief downpours could make travel along I-90 slick, especially west toward Ritzville and east into the Idaho Panhandle. The snow level will drop to near 3,700 feet by afternoon — close enough that higher ridge roads could see their first trace of slush this fall…
