Local Spokane restaurant, Skewers, said it will give food to those in need

SPOKANE, Wash. – As SNAP benefits near expiration, an Armenian restaurant based in Spokane called Skewers said it would give away meals of prepackaged, microwavable chicken and rice meals to anyone who needs one.

Skewers said it would start giving away meals on Saturday, November .

“As SNAP benefits come to an end, many families in our community will be facing greater food insecurity. At Skewers, we want to do our small part to help,” Skewers wrote in their Facebook announcement…
