Another Chronic Wasting Disease Case Detected in North Spokane

SPOKANE COUNTY, WA — Washington State wildlife officials have confirmed another case of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Game Management Unit 124, marking the latest detection in the same north Spokane area where three cases were identified last year.

According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), test results returned late last week confirmed CWD in an adult male white-tailed deer. This brings Washington’s total confirmed cases to six, including five detected in 2024.
