Spokane Residents Invited to Join Regional Equity Working Group on Transportation and Public Health

The Spokane Regional Equity Working Group is seeking new community participants. The group is led by the Spokane Regional Transportation Council (SRTC) and the Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD). It was established in January 2024 after recommendations from the 2022 Equity Planning Framework. The group addresses equity issues in transportation and public health in Spokane County.

The group offers a space for residents to share feedback, especially about transportation equity. Michael Redlinger, SRTC Associate Transportation Planner, said these discussions have helped shape agency planning and projects to better reflect community needs.

In 2025, the group will expand its work through a stronger partnership between SRTC and SRHD. Devyn Bell, SRHD Health Equity Manager, said the collaboration aims to include more community voices in public health programs and support SRHD’s goals.
