On December 9, 2025, the Spokane Valley City Council approved the city’s 2026 budget with a 6-1 vote. The budget totals $148.4 million and will be in effect from January 1 through December 31, 2026. It allocates $70.6 million to the General Fund and $77.8 million to 30 other city funds.
General Fund revenues for 2026 are projected at $68.6 million, a 7.05% increase from the previous year. Recurring General Fund expenditures are estimated at $68.5 million, up 7.93%. Public safety spending will increase by 11.85%. A new public safety sales tax will fund 10 new positions and maintain one existing role previously funded by a grant.
