Spokane braces for dangerous winds with gusts up to 70 mph

SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane is preparing for dangerous wind conditions as the National Weather Service forecasts strong winds with gusts of 50 to 70 mph beginning between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The forecast brings the potential for widespread power outages, tree damage, and difficult driving conditions. City officials are mobilizing first responders, Spokane 311 operators, and Street and Parks crews to respond to damage reports.
