Snow returns to the mountains with hit-and-miss wintry conditions below

Thursday night brought another burst of strong winds with gusts recorded at 54 mph in Spokane and 62 mph in Pullman. The strongest winds of the day are clear, but breezy southwesterly winds will stick around all the way through Saturday morning.

Behind the front that brought the peak winds, snow levels are dropping again in the mountains. This is where the bulk of the shower activity is expected to stay today and through the weekend. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for most of the Cascades including Snoqualmie Pass with a foot or more of snow expected over the next couple of days…
