$13.5 million awarded to affordable housing projects in eastern Washington

SPOKANE, Wash. — $13.5 million is heading to eastern Washington affordable housing projects from the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Homeownership Capital Programs.

Statewide, $63 million is going to 43 projects to “create 621 first-time homebuyers across Washington.”

The Dept. of Commerce says the investment supports the construction of affordable new homes, provides down payment assistance, and utilizes an affordability subsidy to create permanently affordable homes…
