SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane firefighters rescued an injured dog stranded over an embankment near the Howard Street Bridge on New Year’ Eve.
According to the Spokane Fire Department, neighbors called about the dog that afternoon. When firefighters arrived, the dog was about 15 feet down on a cliff ledge.
Rescue crews were able to lower Firefighter Scott Polley to the ledge where the dog was stuck. Firefighter Polley grabbed the dog while other firefighters raised both of them back to the top of the embankment…
