SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane County judge sentenced a woman who set multiple brush fires along the Centennial Trail last summer to community custody.
Sara Beal will now serve 24 months of community custody, which means she will not go to prison, but instead must comply with ongoing mental health treatment, evaluations and possible community service.
In August of 2025, the Spokane Valley Fire Department reported between 11 and 16 small, suspicious fires along the Centennial Trail.
